Early Orthodontic Treatment
Early Orthodontic Treatment
Some bite and jaw concerns are easier to address while a child is still growing. Early treatment, sometimes called Phase I, uses that growth to guide the jaw and make room for incoming permanent teeth.
Concerns Early Treatment Can Address
- Crossbites — upper teeth that close inside the lower teeth.
- Severe Crowding — too little room for permanent teeth to come in.
- Jaw Growth Differences — upper and lower jaws that are not growing in balance.
When to Schedule a Check
An orthodontic check around age seven lets us spot concerns early. Many children do not need treatment right away, and we simply monitor growth until the right time.
