Orthodontic Relapse
Orthodontic Relapse
Teeth can shift after braces or aligners, especially if a retainer has not been worn as directed. This is called relapse, and it can often be corrected with a shorter round of treatment.
Signs of Relapse
- Crowding Returning — front teeth starting to overlap again.
- Gaps Reopening — spaces coming back between teeth.
- Retainer Fit — a retainer that no longer fits comfortably.
Getting Back on Track
Depending on how much the teeth have moved, options include a new retainer, clear aligners or braces. A consultation will show what your smile needs.
