Traditional Metal Braces
Traditional Metal Braces
Traditional metal braces use brackets and wires to gradually guide misaligned positions into better alignment. They remain one of the most versatile options in orthodontics, capable of addressing crowding, spacing, and bite irregularities across a wide range of ages and situations.
Why Patients Consider Metal Braces
- Broad Correction Range — Metal braces can manage mild to complex alignment and bite concerns.
- Durable Design — The bracket-and-wire system is built to withstand daily wear throughout treatment.
- Adjustable Progress — Wires are periodically changed to keep movement progressing toward the planned result.
How We Plan Your Treatment
Before placing braces, we use digital panoramic X-rays and cephalometric imaging to evaluate jaw structure and root positioning. An intraoral camera lets you see the same views we use for diagnosis, and 3D treatment planning allows us to preview how movement will unfold before treatment begins.
Working With Dr. Hyon
Dr. Kristine M. Hyon, DMD, MS, completed her orthodontic residency and earned a Master of Science in Oral Biology at UMDNJ. She treats patients at the Northvale office in English, Spanish, and Korean, and works with each patient to determine whether traditional metal braces fit their alignment goals.
