Orthodontic elastics are small rubber bands that hook onto braces or aligners. They apply a gentle, steady pull between the upper and lower teeth to help correct the bite.

What elastics correct

• Overbites and underbites — guiding the jaws into better alignment.
• Crossbites — helping teeth close in the right position.
• Fine-tuning — small adjustments to how the teeth fit together.

Wearing them well

Elastics work only when they are worn as directed, usually most of the day and replaced often. We will show you how to put them on and how long to wear them.
