Soft Tissue Lasers
Soft Tissue Lasers
A soft tissue laser uses focused light to gently reshape or remove small amounts of gum tissue. It can be used for minor procedures that support orthodontic treatment.
Common uses
- Exposing teeth — uncovering a tooth that is slow to come in so a bracket can be placed.
- Gum contouring — evening out tissue that has overgrown around braces.
- Frenum release — relieving tissue that limits movement or holds teeth apart.
What to expect
Laser procedures are typically quick, with little bleeding and a short recovery. Dr. Hyon will explain whether a laser procedure would help your treatment.
